On Today’s episode of Adventures with Gary The Wood Sprite: Season 1, (winter) episode 4 (The Point Trail). Its March 1, 2026. This was my very first-time walking near the water at Ceaser Creek Lake. Yay! We started at the Caesar Creek Campground and walked the point trail.
We saw some really cool nature finds including some zebra mussel shells. Zebra mussels have a neat zebra striped pattern but are often invasive. We found deer tracks, beautiful feathers, naturally artistic driftwood and beautiful sun glitter on the lake water.
Caesar Creek Lake is man made in the 1970’s. The reason why we saw lot of examples of erosion is because the lake is used for regional flood control, it protects the surrounding area by storing and regulating water levels. The dam at the south end has gates and valves where the operators can release water downstream when needed. We even saw a heavy chain that is used to anchor a picnic table since the water levels change so much!
What are your stories of lake life? Ever skipped rocks? Ever seen a lake and wondered if it was built for more than just fun?
